jgs night was so funny. the whole day was so queer. and odd. I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the things that happened.
Well after I finished school, we went for RI-northland second round match and we WON 2-0!! but my play throughout the tournament was rather sparse. Went to ask the coach about what I had done wrong, and he said hey you have done nothing wrong, but the game is tight and we need the players who best fit their role in the pitch. But that does not mean you do not play well, try your best and I am sure you would be in the first 11 next year. And I'm glad you asked me that question.
Wondering whether I should focus on hockey or debates. I mean in debates everyone's either talented, committed or competitive. And most of them have actually given up their core ccas to strive for this passion. Its either that I chickened out from my role as a debater at the end of secondary 2, or its that I really thought I had much more pleasure hitting balls with my hockey stick than to debate on the floor. Perhaps its both, but really am not sure myself.
"Lets watch out for Renjie, Nickquah, Benmak, Adil, Jarret, Zhiyuan. They all have their talents. WORK HARD. BEAT THEM ALL. BE IN THE TEAM." When I hear that I'm rather lol about it you know. Its quite funny how people strive real hard to get in to the team, either because they love debates, they are good at debates, they are good at everything, they want to be in the team, they want to get out of the shadows of their fellow debaters, or they're just plain studious. One may realize that much as I love my teammates, they do not really talk at the same wavelength as I do. Their talk is highly intellectual, their lowest level of discussion is advanced DotA strategies. It may range from that to economical viewpoints or some political ideology they discussed in RA history or something. Chim chim. And most of all they talk about debates all the time. They want to win this. They want to be in the team next year.
So wow am I committed enough for that? I would have to answer this question sooner or later.
And JGs we won as well. Kinda convincingly, a unanimous decision by the adjudicators and the floor. 3-0!!! but the other teams that we knew better didn't make it. Hsien got a best speaker though, as well as Rach Quah. But no its quite sad. I bet they may all be emoing after the debates on msn, which is why I KICK MYSELF FOR SLEEPING SO EARLY.
But don't take it to heart you guys. Kick ass for third round k? (:
And YOU GOT THE PIMP IN DAH HOUSE RAFFLES DEBATERS. AND RAFFLES HOCKEY.
